Since we have been travelling around the world for many years with my family and for work I have seen many wonderful places. Grand Canyon is by far one of the more magnificent sites I have seen. This summer on my family roadtrip with a rented RV we visited the south rim of the canyon in early July.

The area was dried out due to very dry weather the last few weeks but the day we  had our visit a proper thunder and rain storm came out of nowhere. The rain stopped as we parked the RV and it did not take long before the sun came out. The rain cleared the air and I think the views were even more spectacular due to the rain.

I think if you ever plan to visit the Grand Canyon you should plan to either get a sunrise or a sunset into your plans. The contrasts of the view is much nicer when you get the sun in from an angle and you can really see just how big the canyon is.

In the evening we did a walk along the rim enjoying a magical sunset, a most wonderful visit to the Grand Canyon.
